The University of Kansas reports that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the US. It does not have to be that way, and a national call to action encouraging use of low-dose CT to fight the leading cause of cancer in the United States is needed.

Ribbon Building: City of Hope Orange County Brings Athletes, Community Together to Paint Dozens of Large Wooden Ribbons for Lung Cancer Survivors
A diverse collection of groups came together to paint and sign our famous White Ribbons. Lung cancer survivors were joined by the Concordia University women’s water polo team, NFL greats Christ Draft and Mike Lansford, and the Los Angeles Rams Cheer Squad worked with the City of Hope Orange County staff and physicians.
Man Who Never Smoked Promotes Lung Cancer Awareness
Don Gallagher was fighting stage 3b lung cancer which had slowly metastasized. What he thought was a prolonged cough due to infection, turned out to be cancer. When he got sick in 2019, it came as a complete shock because he believed lung cancer was something you got after smoking, which he had never done.
PACT Act Legislation Signed: Named for Sgt. First Class Heath Robinson
The signing of the PACT Act and new legislative law is named for Danielle's husband, Sgt. First Class Health Robinson who died in 2020 after battling lung cancer for three years. Robinson attributed his illness to smoke exposure from burning trash pits during his deployment in Iraq. Danielle and her mother attended Biden's State of the Union address earlier this year, and also the signing of the new law. Danielle was accompanied by her mother and daughter for the signing of the new law on August 10, 2022 at the White House.

Heidi and Pierre spoke at Skyridge Medical Center in Lone Tree Colorado promoting lung cancer screening and the importance of radon mitigation. The CDC lists radon as the second leading cause of lung cancer
The White Ribbon Project at ALK Positive Summit
The White Ribbon Project distributed over 50 ribbons to ALK summit attendees. Many of the ribbons were signed by two world renowned thoracic oncologists, Dr Ross Camidge of the University of Colorado Comprehensive Cancer Center and Dr. David Carbone of the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-The James.
White Ribbons to Vienna, Austria!
Over 400 ribbons were made in collaboration with the Colorado Cancer Coalition, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Dr. Michael Gieske, Chris Draft, and numerous local survivors and family members on July 9th, 2022, at the home of Heidi & Pierre Onda.

Kentucky HB 219 Signed
Frankfort, Kentucky – HB 219 was signed by Governor Andy Beshear on July 15. Millions of dollars will be directed toward lung cancer screening and research. Dr. Michael Gieske, Director of Lung Cancer Screening at St. Elizabeth Healthcare was prime mover in this tremendous effort. White Ribbon Project ribbon holders were present at this event.
Cathy Cray 5K in Amherst, NH
Heidi and Pierre were at Cathy Cray’s 5K in Amherst, NH on July 16, 2022. Cathy was a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, a lifelong health enthusiast, and avid runner. She was a beautiful person inside and out. This was the one-year anniversary of her passing, and everyone could feel the love her family, friends, and community have for her. More than 350 people came out on a hot summer day to show their love and support and to contribute to increasing lung cancer awareness.
